So you’ve had a great holiday with a fun group of new friends, the scenery has been spectacular and everyone was busy snapping away to capture the memorable moments. You’re sure you have some great pics but you’re also envious of that magic moment that someone else in the group absolutely nailed. You may have also decided as a group that it takes far too long to use every single camera and iphone when taking the group shots and the group would be far better served by using one camera and to share later.
This exact scenario has played out for me very recently. Having just returned from a 5 day Trek to Machu Picchu with a group of 10 new friends. The scenery was indeed spectacular, plenty of great pics were taken and we did in fact agree to use one camera for the group shots and share later.
Back in the day this would mean clogging up yours and everyone else’s email up by sending multiple large image files to the other group members and of course visa versa.
There is a much more efficient way of doing this nowadays, much much more efficient. You can create a shared folder in one of the many online storage/sharing platforms such as Dropbox, OneDrive or GoogleDrive to name a few.
I have used all 3 of the above with success, today I will demonstrate how you do this using Dropbox. You will need to have Dropbox installed, here is a guide on how to do this The Ultimate Quick Start Guide to Dropbox
Step 1 – Create a Shared Folder/s
First up you need one person to agree to set up a shared Dropbox folder:
Step 2 – Group Members Share Their Photos/Files
The people that the folders have been shared with can then upload their photos to share with the group, there are 2 methods that can be used to do this:
1. From Dropbox Online
2. Using File Explorer
So there you have it, memorable moments shared. The group members can now:
- Upload their photos
- View all the photos that other group members have shared
- Download any of the photos
- Share the folders/photos with their friends to view only
I hope that this article will help you to efficiently share your memorable moments with your friends and family now or in the future. Please leave me a comment if you have found it useful.
