Udemy may be the answer
There are many individual education providers out there but finding the right one with the relevant content and expertise is a difficult process. Platforms such as Udemy make this process so much simpler and affordable.
What is it?
Udemy is the world’s online learning marketplace, where 10 million+ students are taking courses in everything from programming to yoga to photography–and much, much more. The 40,000+ courses are taught by an expert instructor, and every course is available on-demand, so students can learn at their own pace, on their own time, and on any device.
Who is it for?
There are two sides to Udemy, Students and Instructors.
Students : We are all students so I think Udemy is for everyone, the young, the not so young, those in business, employees, employers, the unemployed, retirees, yep EVERYONE. The range of courses is so vast that it more or less covers most interests, business and personal development needs.
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go……Dr. Seuss Tweet this
Instructors : The Udemy platform opens up the opportunity for almost anyone to create an online course. All you need to do is find something that you know, love and have some knowledge on, then using some simple tools you can create a course that will make you money as you sleep.
The options are only restricted by your imagination, most people know more about something than some other people, most just don’t realise it. Think of if more this way, you don’t have to be an “expert”, you just need a topic that you know more about than some people.
There is even a course on How to Create Your Udemy Course
What is free?
Using the Udemy platform is free, this includes the mobile apps as well as the desktop version. There are also some courses that are free.
In the past there have been a wide range of prices for courses but Udemy have recently announced that they will be simplifying their pricing structure. Commencing 4th April all Udemy courses will be priced USD20-USD50 each. Udemy instructors will set their own prices within this range and there will still be free courses available.
Udemy also runs promotions with discounts of up to 50% off.
Full details on the change of pricing structure can be found here
